Wilmington, Ohio is a pleasant small town with big city amenities just an hour away. The town is roughly halfway between Cincinnati and Columbus and only 35 miles from Dayton.

Wilmington has been around since 1810. While the town celebrates and maintains an agricultural tradition, it also has its foot firmly in the 21st century. The town is home to a National Weather Service weather forecast office that serves all of southwestern Ohio and parts of Kentucky and Indiana.
You’ll also find the Wilmington Air Park. This air complex began as a landing strip in the 1920s, served as an Army Air Corp base, and later as an Air Force facility. It is now a fully integrated Aviation and Logistics Business Park. It offers nearly 3 million square feet of industrial, office and hangar space for both air and land transport. Wilmington is a super-reasonable place to put down roots. With the average home price at $100,000, you can afford to live here. The town and surrounding county has lots from 7,000 sqft to 231 acres. If you’d like a fixer upper, there are a number of homes that need elbow grease to return to their early beauty. On the other end are a few multi-million dollar homes. The Wilmington City Schools offers K-12 education in three elementary, one middle, and one high school. Greatschools gives the schools 4s and 5s on a scale from 1 to 5. In 2016, the high school’s Ohio test scores were 93.7%, above state average. For more information please follow this link.
The town also is home to two colleges. Southern State Community College has a campus in the town. They primarily focus on transfer credits and health sciences. Wilmington College was established by Quakers. It focuses on liberal arts education infused with themes of global peace and understanding.
Celebrate the banana split during the Banana Split Festival. Each year in June, you can enjoy free rock ‘n’ roll concerts, classic cars, collectibles/memorabilia, rides, food, and banana splits! Wilmington claims that banana splits were created in the town in 1907. Enjoy!
Every September, Wilmington honors its agricultural heritage at the Clinton County Corn Festival. You’ll enjoy three days of antique farm machinery, music, food made from corn, and more. The Corn Olympics will provide some unique entertainment. From the Outhouse Construction and subsequent race, obstacle course, and toilet seat toss, it’s family friendly entertainment that you won’t forget.
